Online Talk Series
Do Your Research in Germany

Register now and find out about current developments in the German research community and how you can become part of it! Our regular online talks are your opportunity to ask questions directly to experts from German universities, non-university research institutions and companies. These events are open to anyone interested in doing research in Germany. They are free of charge and will be conducted in English.
Talks take place between May 30 and June 2

Conference Funding

Faculty members and advanced students in the humanities, social sciences and related fields are invited to apply for co-funding to organize workshops, seminars and conferences that embrace the interdisciplinary and/or comparative study of the history, politics, economics, law, society, culture and the arts of Germany.

Green Talents Award 2022

Applications are open for this year’s round of Green Talents – International Forum for High Potentials in Sustainable Development. The Green Talents competition held by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research annually honors 25 outstanding young researchers for their pioneering contributions to greater sustainability. Winners will receive an invitation to the Virtual Science Forum 2022, access to the Green Talents network, and a funded research stay in Germany.

Event & Panel Discussion
10 Years of the University of Cologne NY Office

In partnership with DAAD and the DWIH, the University of Cologne’s North America Office is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a festive in-person event at the German House, featuring art, music, networking, and the panel discussion “Transatlantic Perspectives on Quantum Science and Technologies.” On this occasion, the UoC is honored to welcome a delegation from the University of Cologne, led by Rector Prof. Axel Freimuth. The panel will highlight the University’s Research Cluster of Excellence “Matter and Light for Quantum Computing” (ML4Q) and its partner institutions in Germany and the U.S.

Job Opening at the DWIH San Francisco
Program Officer

The German Center for Research and Innovation San Francisco (DWIH) is currently seeking a well-organized and team-oriented person to join the team as Program Officer. The Program Officer will be responsible for accounting and administration which include developing and managing events, identifying speakers and relevant topics according to the DWIH-agenda, accounts payable and receivable, budget preparation, database management, and general office management and administrative duties.
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Job Opening at the DWIH San Francisco
Communications Officer

The German Center for Research and Innovation San Francisco (DWIH) is currently seeking a well-organized and team-oriented person to join the team as a Communications Officer. The Communications Officer will work closely with the Executive Director and Program Officer of DWIH and will be responsible for various science communication, marketing, and outreach functions. This includes managing the DWIH SF brand, overseeing its communications platforms across web, social, and email marketing, and creating content.
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Sustainability in Germany
Germany is well known for its efforts in recycling. The average German home has 3 different trash cans to sort waste. Many people also recycle their glass and plastic bottles at supermarkets to receive their Pfand, or bottle deposit, back.
