Special Announcement on Funding Availability
DAAD finances the majority of its programs through public funds from the German federal government. Unfortunately, the resources to fund the Short-Term Research Grants, Research Stays, and Re-Invitation Grants are no longer available for this year. As a result, applications to these programs cannot be submitted until further notice.
Hopefully, funding may be available again for the fall deadlines of these programs.
We thank you for your understanding and for your interest in Germany.

Call for Applications
Become a Young Ambassador!
DAAD’s Young Ambassadors deadline is approaching! Young Ambassadors are undergraduate students who recently studied abroad in Germany (even if for less time than planned, virtually, or this coming summer) and promote study in Germany at their home colleges/universities with help from DAAD. Only one student may be nominated per university.

Call for Applications
Become a Research Ambassador!
DAAD North America is pleased to announce the call for applications for the next round of Research Ambassadors, a group of informed and enthusiastic experts and advisers on research opportunities in Germany. Research Ambassadors are scholars and scientists in North America who have conducted advanced long-term research projects in Germany and are interested in promoting research in Germany at their home universities and among their peers and students.

The Future is Green Hydrogen: Perspectives from Germany, Brazil and the USA
Join the event online to hear perspectives from Germany, Brazil and the United States on new strategies and initiatives for the production and uses of green hydrogen. Moderated by the Coordinator of the DWIH São Paulo, Marcio Weichert, and Kristina Kramer, who is in charge of the German-Brazilian Energy Partnership – GIZ, the panelists will discuss green hydrogen as a sustainable alternative to the use of fossil fuels, as well as trends for future partnerships and global initiatives.

Robo Judges Ruling Over Humans? AI, Law and Ethics
In this Transatlantic Tandem Talk by the University of Cologne New York Office and its partners, including DAAD and the DWIH, Prof. Frauke Rostalski, Professor of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law, Philosophy of Law and Comparative Law at the University of Cologne, and Prof. Frank Pasquale, Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School, will address legal and ethical questions on the deployment of Artificial Intelligence tools in highly sensitive fields such as criminal justice, HR, or banking.

International Data Science Summer School
Join SRH University Heidelberg for its 1st International Data Science Summer School on campus funded by DAAD for selected students. The Data Science Summer School offers a thematically broad introduction into the world of practical Data Science. It is a combination of theoretical and practical workshops in data science, data engineering, and data analytics, with a strong focus on applications in business and industry.

This year's Sound Understanding concert at New York's Carnegie Hall will feature several talented musicians who are currently living in the US as DAAD Music Fellows! Violinist Felicitas Schiffner hails from Lübeck, Germany and is currently studying at the New England Conservatory in Boston.
Felicitas joined our colleague, Hanni Geist, on this week's episode of the Coffee Connections podcast. In it, she discusses her love of classical music in addition to sharing two live performances.
