Apply to the Gilman-DAAD Germany Scholarship!

Applications are now open for the Gilman-DAAD Germany Scholarship for programs that start between December 1, 2022 and October 31, 2023. The program awards scholarships to undergraduate students who receive Pell Grants and plan to pursue either long- or short-term study abroad programs. There is no separate application process for the Gilman-DAAD Scholarship. All applications to the Gilman Program that check Germany as a destination will be considered by DAAD.

For Master's Studies in Germany

Study Scholarship

Highly qualified final-year undergraduate students or those who have received an undergraduate degree in any discipline may apply for the DAAD Study Scholarship for a full Master’s degree program at a German university or for study at a German university as part of a postgraduate or Master’s degree program completed in the home country.

Application deadline: November 4


Research Grants

One-Year Grants

Research Grants – One-Year Grants (7-12 months) are awarded to highly qualified candidates who have completed a Master’s degree or Diploma, or in exceptional cases a Bachelor’s degree at the latest by the time they begin their grant supported research.

Pitch Competition for Students and Early-Career Professionals

Falling Walls Lab - San Francisco Bay Area

Falling Walls Lab is a world-class pitch competition, networking forum, and steppingstone that brings together a diverse and interdisciplinary pool of students and early-career professionals by providing a stage for breakthrough ideas both globally and locally. The multifaceted format supports participants in driving their innovations and develops their communication skills, fostering collaboration and creating a space for the impactful and sustainable community to thrive. The Falling Walls Lab in the San Francisco Bay Area is co-organized by our partners at the DWIH San Francisco and financed in part by DAAD.

Martina is originally from the Czech Republic and is now at the Manhattan School of Music where she is pursuing a master’s degree. Application Deadline Extended

International Parliamentary Scholarship Program

The IPS program allows participants to gain first-hand knowledge of Germany’s parliamentary system and political decision-making process during a three-month work placement with a Member of the German Parliament. Participants also take part in a rich educational program with German political foundations and have the chance to enroll in university classes, spending a total of five months in the German capital. IPS is open to college graduates who are U.S. citizens, under 30 on March 1, 2023, and have very good knowledge (B2+) of the German language.

Germany Today 2022

This June, twenty-one participants visited Germany as a part of the Germany Today tour. Among them were representatives of leading universities, research institutions, and funding organizations in the United States and Canada as well as with experts on educational policy. The one-week tour gave participants a broader sense of Germany’s higher education landscape. Click the link below to hear from four of the participants about their experiences on the tour.



UAS7 Study and Internship Program

Deadline October 1, 2022: UAS7 invites students enrolled in Canadian and U.S. colleges to apply for the Study and Internship Program (SIP). Successful applicants will be eligible to study for one semester at a UAS7 member university or receive an internship placement at one of our university labs in Germany! Travel scholarships are available!


M.A. International Security Management in Berlin/Germany


The M.A. International Security Management at a glance:
