On Tour with HAW Representatives!

This week, we welcomed representatives from 13 German Universities of Applied Sciences (HAWs) for an informational tour that visited universities in Toronto, Detroit, and New York City.

For Master's Studies in Germany

Study Scholarships


Highly qualified final-year undergraduate students or those who have received an undergraduate degree in any discipline may apply for the DAAD Study Scholarship for a full master’s degree program at a German university or for study at a German university as part of a postgraduate or master’s degree program completed in the home country.

Application deadline: October 31

For Projects Up to 12 Months

Research Grants in Germany


Research funding is available for highly qualified doctoral students in a US/Canadian program (or those who will be enrolled by the beginning of funding) interested in a research project in Germany for funding between 2 and 12 months, or those who have already completed a PhD (postdocs) for funding between 2 and 6 months. This program has replaced the previous Short-Term and One-Year Research Grants.

Doctoral Funding

Bi-nationally Supervised Doctoral Degrees / Cotutelle


These research grants are for doctoral candidates and young scientists and academics whose doctoral degrees are supervised both by a university teacher at the home university and an academic adviser at the host institute in Germany.

Research Funding

German Studies Research Grant


German Studies Research Grants are awarded for one to two months to highly qualified undergraduate and graduate students at US and Canadian universities nominated by the professor supervising their German studies-relevant research.

For Master's or PhD Students and Postdocs

ERA Fellowships - Green Hydrogen


This DAAD scholarship program supports German and international Master and PhD students as well as postdocs in any topic related to Green Hydrogen. Funded are study, research, or internships in Germany and around the world. The GH2 fellows will be integrated into international working groups with experts and DAAD alumni. The working groups cover the GH2-related topics: production, transport and infrastructure, market stimulation, cross-cutting issues. Additionally, participation in scientific conferences and other events may be funded.

Application deadline: November 5 (PhD students and Postdocs may apply at any time)

Internship Database Now Open!

RISE Germany for Undergraduate Students


RISE Germany is a summer internship program for undergraduate students from the United States, Canada, Ireland, and the UK in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, engineering and computer science. RISE Germany offers unique opportunities for undergraduate students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a duration of three months (minimum stay ten weeks) during the summer.

Internship Database Now Open!

RISE Professional for Graduate Students


RISE (Research Internship in Science and Engineering) Professional offers research internships in Germany for up to six months to Master’s and PhD students (as well as qualifying undergraduates and recent graduates) from the US, Canada, Great Britain, or Ireland at companies and non-university research institutions with strong relations to industry. All participants receive a scholarship from DAAD and an additional stipend from their host company/institution to help cover living expenses.

University Summer Courses Offered in Germany for Foreign Students and Graduates


This program provides scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students to attend a broad range of summer courses at German universities. These courses focus mainly on German language and literary, cultural, political and economic aspects of modern and contemporary Germany.

Scholarships Available

The Study Foundation of the Berlin House of Representatives


The Study Foundation of the Berlin House of Representatives offers scholarships for graduate students and postdocs of all fields coming from the former Allied countries of World War II, who want to study at a Berlin university or use research facilities in Berlin. The foundation will award 15 grants for the academic year 2025/26. The grants amount to 1,100 EUR for graduate and doctoral students; and 1,630 EUR for postdocs per month.
