Have You Filled Out Your Bracket Yet?

Put your soccer knowledge to the test with this year’s contest! In honor of Germany hosting this year’s UEFA Men’s European Football Championship, we invite you to join the #DAADBracketChallenge!


Participants will predict the winners of each group and the results of the Knockout Stage. Each correct prediction wins points, and the participant with the most points wins!


First prize will win roundtrip airfare to anywhere in Germany, second prize will receive a free language course at the Goethe-Institut (online or in person), and third prize will receive a Germany National Football Team shirt!

Brackets may be submitted between Monday, May 13 at 9:00am EDT and Thursday, June 13 at 11:59pm EDT. The Euros begin on June 14!

Please note: The DAAD New York Office will be closed on Monday, May 20 in observance of Whit Monday.

2024 Green Hydrogen Research Tour


DAAD invites advanced PhD students and postdocs from the European Research Area and further partner countries, including Canada and the United States, to join an exclusive Research Tour on green hydrogen research and technology in Germany. From September 15-21 2024, participants will visit German research institutions, gain insights into the latest advancements, and connect with experts in the field.

In “Fascination of Science”, distinguished German artist Herlinde Koelbl employs intimate interviews and innovative portraits to unveil the inner workings of the brilliant minds of featured scientists. Herlinde Koelbl will be in conversation with Nobel laureate Joachim Frank about the intersection of science and the arts, moderated by Barbara Knappmeyer.

Join Our Team!

The German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New York is seeking a full-time (40h/week), creative, communicative person to join the team as Communications Officer. The Communications Officer will be mainly responsible for a variety of science communication, marketing, and outreach functions. This includes managing the DWIH brand, and overseeing its communications platforms (website, social media, and newsletter). Other tasks include event organization and file management.

Germany Announces Preliminary EURO 24 Roster

This week, Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann confirmed a preliminary 27-man roster ahead of the EURO 24 campaign.
