Call for Applications
Conference Funding
Faculty members and advanced students in the humanities, social sciences and related fields are invited to apply for co-funding to organize workshops, seminars and conferences that embrace the interdisciplinary and/or comparative study of the history, politics, economics, law, society, culture and the arts of Germany.

Call for Applications
German Studies Research Grant
This specialized DAAD program offers research grants to highly-qualified undergraduate and graduate students who are nominated by their department/program chairs. The grant may be used for short-term research (one to two months) in Germany.

Research Grants
One-Year Grants
Research Grants – One-Year Grants (7-12 months) are awarded to highly qualified candidates who have completed a Master’s degree or Diploma, or in exceptional cases a Bachelor’s degree at the latest by the time they begin their grant supported research.

Short-Term Research Grants are awarded for 1-6 months to highly qualified candidates who have completed a Master’s degree or Diploma, or in exceptional cases a Bachelor’s degree at the latest by the time they begin their grant supported research, or those who have already completed a PhD (postdocs).

Attend a Master's Degree Program in Germany
Study Scholarships
Highly qualified final year undergraduate students or those who have received an undergraduate degree of all disciplines may apply for the DAAD Study Scholarship for a full Master’s degree program at a German university or for study at a German university as part of a postgraduate or Master’s degree program completed in the home country.
Application deadline: November 4, 2021

Spend a Summer Studying in Germany
University Summer Course Grant
This program provides scholarships to attend a broad range of three- to four-week summer courses at German universities which focus mainly on German language and literary, cultural, political and economic aspects of modern and contemporary Germany. Extensive extracurricular programs complement and reinforce the core material.

Internships for Master's and PhD Students
RISE Professional
RISE (Research Internship in Science and Engineering) Professional offers research internships in Germany for up to six months to Master’s and PhD students (as well as qualifying undergraduates and recent graduates) from North America at companies and non-university research institutions with strong relations to industry. All participants receive a scholarship from DAAD and an additional stipend from their host company/institution to help cover living expenses.

Internships for Undergraduate Students
RISE Germany
RISE Germany is a summer internship program for undergraduate students from the United States, Canada and the UK in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, engineering and computer science. RISE Germany offers unique opportunities for bachelor degree students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a duration of three months (minimum stay ten weeks) during the summer.

New Funding Program
Konrad Zuse Schools of Excellence in AI
DAAD is expanding its range of funding opportunities relating to artificial intelligence. Under the new program, DAAD is supporting the establishment of three ‘Konrad Zuse Schools of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence’. The schools will aim to give a comprehensive boost to the education of outstanding young AI researchers at master’s degree and doctoral level in Germany. Funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, about 25 million EUR will be available under this innovative degree and doctoral program. Applications from university consortia are open from now until the end of October.

DAAD Funding for the Natural Sciences or Engineering (BA/MA/PhD)
This webinar will feature details on DAAD’s funding programs for Master’s level students during the academic year 2022/23 for both those enrolled full-time at universities in the US or Canada as well as those pursuing their degree at a German university.

DAAD is Hiring!
DAAD New York is looking for temporary help from November 1 through (approx.) December 31, 2021 to help process scholarship applications. Applicants should be fluent in English, be able to work with Excel, interested in international education, and available at least 30 hours a week in the New York area.
