October 15: RISE Worldwide
In Memoriam
Dr. Heidrun Suhr

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our treasured former colleague, Dr. Heidrun Suhr.

† October 2nd, 2020

Dr. Suhr was a German Studies professor at the University of Minnesota from 1984 to 1990 before moving into the role of deputy director, and later director, of the DAAD New York office until 1995. After serving as director of Deutsches Haus at New York University from 1995 to 1996, Dr. Suhr returned to Germany, where she headed DAAD's departments "Events and Visitor Programs" (1997-1998) and "Academic Teaching Staff in Western Europe/North America" (1998-2000) in Bonn. Even after leaving DAAD, Dr. Suhr remained very closely associated with the organization.

With the passing of Dr. Suhr, we mourn a loss to our professional community and to all she touched. Always deeply passionate about her work and a dear friend to many, her courage and zeal for life will always be remembered.
