XUGANA ISLAND LODGE REFURB

Xugana Island Lodge reopens with a fresh new look on 01 March 2020.

Every February the Desert & Delta Safaris camps close for annual maintenance. This year, Xugana Island Lodge will receive extra attention over this period. Notable changes will include the retiling of the bathrooms in each of the eight guest chalets, improved lighting throughout the lodge, as well as a complete decor upgrade to give it a fresh look.

2019 was an exceptional year for Xugana Island Lodge. The new game drive vehicles that were introduced into the concession last year allowed the guides to explore the large private concession offering amazing game viewing throughout the year. With the lodge's location in a permanent water area of the Okavango Delta and the wide variety of activities on offer (mokoros, boat safaris, guided bush walks, game drives, night drives & optional helicopter scenic flights), it is the perfect camp from which to explore the delta.

We are looking forward to posting updated photos of Xugana Island Lodge as soon as we have completed the refurbishment.

FREE SCENIC HELI FLIGHT WITH ALL 10 NIGHT BODDS PACKAGES

Don't forget about the 10-night BODDS package for long-stay travellers looking for a complete safari package with Desert & Delta Safaris. The package includes a FREE 20-minute scenic helicopter flight at either Camp Okavango or Xugana Island Lodge.

Please note this is no longer a helicopter transfer but a free scenic flight with no effect on your package price. This makes it much easier to sell and is a far better helicopter flight experience!

With the evolution of the Desert & Delta Safaris brand came the need to create a new and exciting online space from which to showcase Botswana's favorite safari circuit. The new online home creates a better understanding of what a safari to Botswana entails with the use of exciting video footage, fresh photo content and detailed product information.

Importantly, the new website features the Desert & Delta Safaris CARES philosophy, highlighting our commitment to developing the human potential of Botswana while protecting our precious natural resources.
