Greetings to the family of House District 11 from the Texas State Capitol. The Texas Legislature has been hard at work in Austin on legislation to improve the lives of the people of the State of Texas and East Texas. I am pleased to share with you this update on my time here as your State Representative in the Texas House of Representatives.

Rep. Joanne Shofner had the honor of laying out several House Concurrent Resolutions at the Texas Capitol: HCR 72, HCR 74, HCR 75, and HCR 93.

These resolutions reflect the values and priorities of East Texas, and it’s always a privilege to bring the voices of our district to the House floor.

DJ Visits The Texas Capitol!

DJ was in the House! It was such a joy to welcome DJ—who recently made headlines during President Trump’s address to both Houses of Congress, where he was surprised by being named an honorary Secret Service agent!

DJ is now on a mission to be ceremonially sworn in by 1,000 agencies across the country, and we were proud to help him check two more off his list right here at the Texas House.

His family is from Center, Texas, and we couldn’t be prouder to have East Texas represented in such a unique and uplifting way. DJ's courage and enthusiasm continue to inspire everyone he meets!
