School Supplies Donated to Start Year Strong

The Springboro Community Assistance Center received school supply donations from several groups to start the school year off right.

Many thanks to Springboro Baptist Church (below), The Point 937 Church (above) and Warren County Children's Services (right).

We have supplies left! If your family is in need, you can collect them on one of our regular shopping days or message us for an appointment.

Oktoberfest Needs Volunteers!

Springboro's Oktoberfest is around the corner! Volunteers are needed to support this event which in turn supports the SCAC and other local charities.

Shifts during the event are helpful, but help preparing and cleaning up are vital as well.

Details are available on the sign up website, but tasks to be accomplished the week before the event include food prep and equipment set up. All ages are welcome to help!

If you can't volunteer, please attend the event on September 9 and 10.

Reception Held to Thank Volunteers

SCAC runs on volunteers and we cannot thank them enough!

In early August, we hosted our volunteers at one of our favorite local places, Warped Wing.

Thank you to everyone who sorts, dates, bags and shops with our neighbors. For more photos of these wonderful people, please visit our Facebook page. Cheers!

Shopping Hours Unchanged as School Begins

The Springboro Community Assistance Center will continue to be open on the second and fourth Mondays of the month from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Upcoming distribution dates include Sept. 12 and 26. Schools are closed Oct. 10 so we are closed too but will be open Oct. 2.

Thanksgiving meals will be distributed Nov. 14 and the pantry will be open again Nov. 28.

Our adopt-a-family program for Christmas will kick off later this fall. Potential sponsors should plan to drop off gifts at Springboro High School Dec. 7 between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Gifts will be distributed Dec. 12 and 14.

Watch our Facebook page for additional details on our holiday programs.

Biggby Coffee to Feature SCAC

Springboro’s Biggby Coffee will feature SCAC as the charity of the month for September.

Every Thursday in September, Biggby will donate 50 cents from every regular priced drink to the SCAC, said owners Scott and Molli Bunch.

Biggby is co-located with Farmers' and Merchants Bank at 720 Gardner Road across from Dorothy Lane Market. Their Thursday hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Biggby will also have a barrel in their store for food donations (please see the list below for what we need the most).

Thank you to Scott and Molli and thanks in advance to our friendly coffee (and non-coffee - there's a full menu!) drinkers.

Thank You, Donors!

SCAC is grateful for the generous support of long-time donors.

The Auxiliary Eagles No 4014 has been a long time monetary supporter.

We're also grateful for the support of the Springboro Chamber of Commerce whose annual golf outing and gala provide regular support as well.

Thank you!

Register Your Grocery Cards

You can help SCAC keep the food flowing in many different ways. If you shop at Kroger or Dorothy Lane Market, register your rewards cards so their Community Rewards and Good Neighbor Programs benefit SCAC.

These donations DO make a difference. Between May 1 and July 31, more than $700 made its way to SCAC thanks to 121 households who shop at Kroger with registered cards.

Go online to www.kroger.com or www.dorothylane.com or visit customer service. A percentage of your total will be donated to SCAC every time you shop.

PayPal Allows Recurring Donations
Did you know: SCAC accepts donations via PayPal. Want to give regularly? Set up a recurring donation!

If you give from a bank account instead of a credit card, there are no fees! (We pay the fees which reduces your donation.) And it's secure!

Thanks to everyone who has already donated through PayPal and who set up recurring donations! We appreciate you!

If you prefer to send a check, you can mail it to Springboro Community Assistance Center, P.O. Box 1042, Springboro, Ohio 45066, or stop by with your donation during our distribution hours on Mondays between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.
