Updates on Our Community

Spring 2022
Spring Distribution Dates Include Easter Meals
The Springboro Community Assistance Center remains open on the second and fourth Mondays of the month from 3 to 4:40 p.m. through the rest of the school year. SCAC will be closed if school is closed for a holiday or other reason.

The pantry is open for choice shopping on March 14, but will not be open March 28 when the school district is on Spring Break.

Shopping on April 11 will also include the opportunity to collect items for Easter meals. Donations will come from Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Other dates through the end of the school year are April 25, May 9 and May 23. During the summer, the pantry will remain open but have slightly different hours. Watch our Facebook page for specific announcements.
Enclave Residents Donate Winter Items
Residents of The Enclave, a senior living facility on State Route 73, took up a collection for those who might be in need of extra warmth over the winter.

Scarves, gloves, blankets and more were collected from residents and their visitors. Some of the items are handmade. If you have a need for one of these items, ask about them when you visit the pantry.

Pictured with the donations are Enclave residents Joan Bernard, Margie Cattani, Shirley Kuhn and Barb Bechtol.
Five Points Hosts Twos-day Food Drive
In celebration of "Twos-Day" on February 22 (2-22-22), Five Points Elementary School held a food drive to benefit the SCAC.

Each student was asked to bring two items in honor of the unusual date. The drive was highly successful. Thank you to the Five Points community for your creative generosity!
Southwest Holds Super Bowl Drive
Southwest Church held a Super Bowl themed food drive benefiting SCAC.

Church members and visitors were asked to "vote" for their predicted winner by placing food items in barrels marked for the Cincinnati Bengals or the L.A. Rams.

The Rams won the Super Bowl but the SCAC came out a winner too!
Southbrook's City Lights Group Donates
Members of Southbrook Church's City Lights Group made generous donations to the SCAC in early March.

In addition to a substantial amount of food and household items, the group contributed several $25 gift cards. All donations are so much appreciated by the neighbors who visit the SCAC. Thank you!
What We Need
Springboro Community Assistance Center is grateful for all donations. Here is what we need the most right now.

  • dry dog and cat food
  • shampoo WITH conditioner
  • toilet paper
  • paper towels
  • napkins
  • laundry detergent/pods
  • cleaning supplies
  • individual bags of chips, Goldfish, Cheez-its, pretzels, popcorn, etc.
  • individual size drinks (Gatorade, water bottles and juice boxes/bottles)

Please note that we cannot use expired items, opened items, or loose items (i.e. granola bars that are not in the box they came in).

Please note that we also do not accept used clothing or household items.

There are drop boxes outside the Educare building next to Springboro Junior High School (1629 South Main Street, Springboro, Ohio). Donations are accepted at any time!
Register Your Grocery Cards
You can help SCAC keep the food flowing in many different ways. If you shop at Kroger or Dorothy Lane Market, register your rewards cards so their Community Rewards and Good Neighbor Programs benefit SCAC.

These donations DO make a difference. Between Nov. 1 and Jan. 31, more than $600 made its way to SCAC thanks to 103 households who shop at Kroger with registered cards.

Go online to www.kroger.com or www.dorothylane.com or visit customer service. A percentage of your total will be donated to SCAC every time you shop.
PayPal Allows Recurring Donations
Did you know: SCAC accepts donations via PayPal. Want to give regularly? Set up a recurring donation!

If you give from a bank account instead of a credit card, there are no fees! (We pay the fees which reduces your donation.) And it's secure!

Thanks to everyone who has already donated through PayPal and who set up recurring donations! We appreciate you!

If you prefer to send a check, you can mail it to Springboro Community Assistance Center, P.O. Box 1042, Springboro, Ohio 45066, or stop by with your donation during our distribution hours on Mondays between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.
