Client of the Quarter - G.B.
"For over twenty years, my life was controlled by addiction. Pills, heroin, meth, and fentanyl had such a grip on me that I truly believed I would never be free. I had tried to quit more times than I can count, promising myself and others that this time would be different, only to fall back into the same cycle of pain, shame, and hopelessness. Eventually, I reached a place where I had completely given up. I didn’t believe freedom was possible for someone like me.
But God had other plans.
When I came to Safe Harbor, I was broken, tired, and desperate. I didn’t have the strength or the answers, but Safe Harbor met me right where I was. Through their Christ-centered program, I began to experience something I hadn’t felt in a long time: hope. They didn’t just help me break free from addiction; they helped me rebuild my life from the inside out.
Most importantly, Safe Harbor helped restore my relationship with God. For so long, I had drifted away, feeling unworthy and too far gone. But through prayer, guidance, and the love shown to me by the people here, I came to understand that God had never left me. His grace covered even my darkest moments, and His mercy gave me a new beginning.
Today, I stand in a place I never thought possible, I am free. Not just from drugs, but from the chains that kept me bound for so many years. I have peace, purpose, and a renewed sense of direction in my life.
I am incredibly humbled and grateful to now be a part of the Safe Harbor ministry. To go from being someone in need of help to someone who can help others is something I don’t take lightly. It is a daily reminder of how powerful God’s redemption truly is.
God’s timing is perfect. Even when I couldn’t see it, He was working behind the scenes, preparing a way for me. Safe Harbor was a part of that plan, and through it, I have found not only freedom, but purpose again.
If my story can show anything, it’s this: no one is ever too far gone. There is always hope, there is always healing, and through God, there is always a way back."
