Dr. Vinnie Bapat joined the Valve Science Center team in June 2020, bringing extensive expertise as a cardiothoracic surgeon and innovator in the treatment of heart valve disease. In recognition of his internationally renowned research and educational work in valvular heart disease, he was named the James R. and Judith A. Bradshaw Chair for the Valve Science Center. An Interactive Hands-on Training Course: 2026 TMVR/TTVR Planning Workshop May 8-9, 2026

In partnership with Pie Medical Imaging, expert physicians led an interactive, virtual workshop on CT planning for transcatheter mitral and tricuspid valve interventions — including valve-in-valve TMVR, valve-in-ring, valve-in-mitral-annular-calcification, and tricuspid procedures. Participants engaged in hands-on learning with 3Mensio software, received personalized instruction, and gained access to lectures and guided practice sessions.

Study Spotlight: ATLAS Pivotal Trial


Description

This clinical trial is designed to evaluate the safety and performance of the supra-annular AltaValve Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR) system for the treatment of mitral regurgitation (MR).

 

Eligible patients include those with clinically significant MR (3+) deemed unsuitable for mitral valve surgery or transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER). The trial also includes a MAC cohort with moderate MR (2+) and moderate MS, or severe MS regardless of MR grade.
