Hands of Christ 2022 - Dedicated to Victoria Widmer
Monday’s HOC Distribution will be unlike any that we’ve done so far, and therefore, the duties of our volunteers are totally different. One thing that will remain the same is the Hands of Christ Mission: To bring Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregations together to meet the basic needs of children showing them Christ’s love. We hope to serve 300+ children with the help of volunteers from our church and the members of the Hands of Christ Operations Team from Westminster Presbyterian.
On Sunday following Fellowship, Building and Grounds will set up the Fellowship Hall in preparation for the arrival of the Operations Team on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
The HOC Team will bring all the clothing, socks, and underwear from Westminster and set it up in the Fellowship Hall. We will supply the bags of school supplies. (The HOC Team has been packing bags of clothes throughout the year for distribution to the various schools that requested clothing and can usually pack a bag in 10 minutes!)
The Drive-Through Distribution will start at 4:00p.m. with the parking lot opening at 3:00 for families. Families will complete order forms in their cars and forms will be collected and orders filled in the Fellowship Hall and the bags taken out to the cars.
The Cub Scouts will provide water and chips for the waiting families. Pastor Cameron will stop by each car to offer a Bible and prayer, if wanted.
Volunteers will need to arrive by 2:30 and park in the far back corner of the parking lot. (There is no need to come earlier unless you are asked.) If you have signed up to help, you can pick up a Volunteer Information Sheet on Sunday.
Besides our Mission, another thing that will remain the same this year is Sandra’s Fabulous Taco Meal for Volunteers!

“. . . I was hungry, (and) you gave me food . . .”
Matthew 25:35 (NEB)
“During the war a church in Strasburg, Germany, was totally destroyed; but a statue of Christ which stood by the altar was almost unharmed. Only the hands of the statue were missing. When the church was rebuilt, a famous sculptor offered to make new hands; but, after considering the matter, the members decided to let it stand as it was – without hands. “For,” they said, “Christ has no hands but our hands to do His work on earth. If we don’t feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, entertain the stranger, visit the imprisoned, and clothe the naked, who will?” Christ is depending on us to do the very things which He did while upon earth. My friend, if the gospel we preach does not have a social application, if it will not work effectively in the work-a-day world, then it is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Current Covid Guidance
Our Covid Protocol level is now YELLOW - CDC Risk of Spread - moderate.
This is based on CDC's revised Risk-of-Spread Metric. In this system, a low risk of spread is green, a moderate risk is yellow, and a high risk is red. The risk level for each county will be posted each week and that will determine the Safety Protocol level we will follow. Our tri-county area currently is at Yellow (moderate risk).
Masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer will remain available to anyone who would like them.

Each month, a list of “Prayers and Praise” is distributed to the entire congregation along with emailed Prayer Chain updates throughout the month for those who wish to receive timely prayer requests. Please join in this ministry as we lift one another in prayer.
