Cameron's Corner

Dear Friends,

If you have ever been by my office, you have noticed my collection of nativities. Pictured here are some of the shepherds that come from as far away as the Ukraine and as close as right down the street in Hanahan. Each one is special and gives a different interpretation of those shepherds who were chosen by God to first hear the good news of Christ’s birth.

This Sunday, we will look at our fourth “I Am” statement from John’s Gospel when Jesus proclaimed, “I am the Good Shepherd.” We will consider how Jesus is like the common shepherds of his day and what makes him especially good. I hope you’ll join us!

In Christ,

Rev. Cameron Smith

Visit our Lenten "I Am" Prayer Stations

Each week during Lent, we will have an interactive prayer station set up outside Fellowship Hall focused on that week’s “I Am” statement from John’s Gospel. During Holy Week, we will set all seven stations up in Classroom 1 for you to visit during office hours to reflect on the ways that Jesus has revealed himself to us throughout our Lenten journey.

Special thanks to Paul and Marilyn Stark and Cameron Smith who put together this past week’s “I Am the Gate” prayer station and to creator Jane Hulme who made the “I Am Prayer Stations” template available online.
