Zenith aircraft
are designed to be quick and easy to build (with basic hand tools), while at the same time being affordable to build and to own. The brainchild of aeronautical engineer
Chris Heintz
, these popular all-metal light aircraft designs introduced the extensive use of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy in light aircraft construction (due to its excellent corrosion resistance and widespread availability) and were the first to widely use blind (pulled) rivets, making them easier and quicker to build.

For just a few hundred dollars you can buy your own set of drawings (blueprints) for the two-seat Zenith model of your choice. Each set of drawings contains its own aircraft serial number, and gives you unlimited access to Zenith Aircraft's legendary technical support!
|
|
Study the drawings and the included assembly manuals before buying the kit, or start to scratch-build your very own aircraft from the plans. While scratch-building requires additional tools and skills (compared to building from a factory kit), it is an excellent learning opportunity that can provide cost savings to the builder. Also, note that any needed individual kit part or component can be purchased from the factory (allowing the builder to choose which parts to fabricate), and note also that the cost of the drawings can be directly applied toward the cost of the kit (even if the kit is purchased months or years later!) Contact us or order online to get started. Drawings and manuals are in stock and ready to be shipped.

This is a very informal grass-roots fly-in and open house held at the kit manufacturing factory in Mexico, Missouri. Because of the coronavirus pandemic and social distancing requirements we will limit activities and group sizes to be able to follow guidelines from authorities at the time of the event.
Check out the video from last year's event

Last week we hosted our
second online aircraft build virtual workshop
class
with participants from across the country. We'll be hosting our next class at the factory (with a smaller group due to distancing) on
June 18 and 19
, with a
simultaneous virtual workshop class for those unable to participate in person.
Order the Zenith aircraft rudder kit
(and any needed tools) and have it shipped to you, and build the rudder from your home at the live event.
Contact Zenith Aircraft Company
for more information or to order your rudder kit for the event: (573) 581-9000.
This is a great opportunity for smaller groups, such as EAA chapters, to learn about building an aircraft from their own location.
We'll be shipping rudder kits (and needed tools) to participants' homes and will be
broadcasting live interactive video of the build class so that participants can go through the entire
rudder build experience
with the guidance of factory professionals.

Now is a great time to start building your own aircraft
from your home or garage, or to continue to build your project. At
Zenith Aircraft Company
we are doing everything we can to support new and existing builders. Getting started building your own aircraft is now even easier than ever, even in this unprecedented time. Rather than waiting to travel to the Zenith Aircraft kit factory to attend a hands-on
kit aircraft building workshop
, Zenith Aircraft is bringing the workshop experience to you (more details below), and the kit factory is open for production, parts and kit shipping, tech support and sales.

With the annual
EAA Oshkosh AirVenture
gathering officially canceled for 2020, we are still evaluating our options for a mid-summer event at the Zenith factory (of course, only if we and visitors are fully able to follow social distancing and all other rules in affect at the time), with aircraft build workshops (inspired by the 2014 EAA
One Week Wonder build project
) and other building and flying events, both at the factory (in person) and/or virtually (online streaming). We'll be sharing more details on this shortly and invite you to
send us your suggestions
