Updates from Zenith Aircraft Company

We've recently returned from a great week in Oshkosh at the annual EAA AirVenture fly-in convention where we introduced the amazing new Zenith STOL CH 750 "Super Duty" sport utility aircraft!

The introduction of the new STOL "Super Duty" was a huge success, with interest in both the new CH 750 "Super Duty" design (with increased gross weight, the addition of a rear jump seat, and more power for amazing STOL performance) as well as the presentation of the "UnPanel" concept, with a huge 17-inch repositionable glass display with integrated avionics from Avilution (completely replacing the traditional instrument panel).

After flying this new Zenith aircraft, Paul Dye, editor of Kitplanes magazine, gave the design the ultimate compliment: "We liked it so much, we needed to get more gas to go up for more!"

The Zenith crew also demonstrated the ease of construction of the new kits, supplied ready to assemble right out of the box (with final hole size match-drilled parts for maximum ease of assembly). Staff and volunteers assembled the CH 750 fuselage kit daily at AirVenture, educating visitors about building their own aircraft:

Zenith Aircraft Company president Sebastien Heintz was named winner of the Freedom of Flight award at AirVenture: "The Freedom of Flight Award is meant for an individual who has made the general aviation community better through their integrity, innovation, and high standards - and Sebastien Heintz is the embodiment of that ideal," said Jack Pelton, Experimental Aircraft Association CEO and chairman of the board. "He and Zenith Aircraft Company have made building an airplane an even more enjoyable experience for homebuilders everywhere."

The Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association (LAMA) also named Heintz the 2017 recipient of the association's President's Award (above right).

Zenith Aircraft staff had a wonderful time meeting with new and existing Zenith builders and flyers, including the full house at the annual Zenith / Zenair Builders Banquet.

Eclipse over the Zenith Aircraft kit factory

Did you know that the upcoming total solar eclipse will be right over the Zenith Aircraft kit factory in Mexico, Missouri? That's right: the Zenith Aircraft factory at Mexico Memorial Airport is in the path of totality for the Total Solar Eclipse of August 21, 2017! There will be 1 minute and 19 seconds of totality!

As in years past we're planning events and activities for builders and pilots of Zenith kit planes (as well as enthusiasts) starting on Friday, September 22, with planned seminars, workshops, and social activities, including the Zenith banquet dinner / social on Friday evening and a Saturday BBQ dinner at the factory!

Zenith Aircraft Company's factory workshops

have become popular with sport aviation enthusiasts, giving them the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in building their own Zenith Aircraft kit plane. Participants get to actually start assembling kit parts under the direction and guidance of factory professionals, and "graduate" from the workshop upon completing construction of their own aircraft rudder tail section for one of Zenith Aircraft Company's popular kit aircraft designs, including the Zenith CH 650 cruiser or the high wing Zenith CH 750 series.

The factory workshops make an excellent getaway for you and your spouse or a friend! Spend a couple of days at the Zenith Aircraft factory and meet with fellow aviation enthusiasts - all while gaining valuable hands-on building skills.
