Make plans to join us at the Zenith Aircraft Homecoming and 30th Annual Open Hangar Days and Fly-In on September 17th and 18th at the kit aircraft factory located at Mexico Memorial Airport in central Missouri. This promises to be another fun and activity-packed gathering of Zenith builders, owners and enthusiasts, with two full days of educational and flying activities planned!
Watch the "official preview video" as Sebastien and Roger go flying in the STOL CH 750 to discuss the planned activities. Note that the 28-minute video includes a full demo flight in the STOL CH 750 (including a grass field landing) and the Zenith Homecoming preview discussion only starts five minutes into the video.
Educational workshop classes and seminars are scheduled starting on Friday, September 17, including engine and avionics seminars, and maintenance and building workshops. Join us for the Zenith "banquet" (outdoors again this year, allowing for social distancing) on Friday evening, and for a BBQ on Saturday evening, sponsored by Aircraft Spruce & Specialty! We may have to limit activities and group sizes in accordance to pandemic guidelines from authorities in effect at the time of the event. We'll post updates and additional details in the coming weeks about the event, and check out the Facebook event page for updates. Purchase your Friday night Zenith banquet dinner tickets now (space is limited). View photos from last year's event.
As mentioned in the preview video, there are still a few spaces available at the hands-on rudder workshop to be held immediately before the Homecoming event on September 15th and 16th at the Zenith aircraft kit factory in Missouri. At the workshop, learn all about building your own Zenith kit aircraft by actually building the complete rudder tail section of the Zenith aircraft of your choice!
Another popular way to get started building your own Zenith kit airplane is to have the affordable rudder starter kit delivered to you.
If you've been thinking about building your own airplane, but aren't sure that you have the required skills or just want to learn more before committing to a design, Zenith Aircraft's exclusive Rudder Starter Kit is for you. The Starter Kit includes the complete kit for the rudder tail section for the Zenith model of your choice and comes with a detailed and illustrated step-by-step assembly instructions - everything you need to get started!
Developed specifically for the first-time builder, the starter kit costs just a few hundred dollars, and includes everything you need to start building your own Zenith kit aircraft.
During the height of the pandemic last year, Kate O’Connor, a senior editor at AVweb, tackled building a Zenith rudder starter kit in her apartment's spare bedroom (as part of a Zenith virtual rudder class): "It was just plain (plane?) fun!"
The Zenith Aircraft kit factory will be closed on Monday, September 6, for the Labor Day holiday weekend, and will reopen Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
