Did you know you can scratch-build your own Zenith aircraft from just the blueprints (plans)? Obviously, this takes more time, but it can be a rewarding and cost-saving way to building your own aircraft. Individual parts are separately available from Zenith.

EAA Oshkosh AirVenture
gathering officially canceled for 2020, we are evaluating our options for a mid-summer event at the Zenith factory (of course, only if we and visitors are fully able to follow social distancing and all other rules in affect at the time), with aircraft build workshops (inspired by the 2014 EAA
One Week Wonder build project
) and other building and flying events, both at the factory (in person) and/or virtually (online streaming). We'll be sharing more details on this shortly and invite you to

Based on the resounding success of our
first virtual workshop last month
, w
e've added a second
online aircraft build workshop class
and invite all of you to take advantage of this opportunity! This is also a great opportunity for smaller groups, such as EAA chapters, to learn about building an aircraft from their own location. P
articipants from around the country will be joining in virtually to build the rudder tail section of the Zenith kit of their choice. We'll be shipping rudder kits (and needed tools) to participants' homes and will be
broadcasting live interactive video of the build class so that participants can go through the entire
rudder build experience
with the guidance of factory professionals.

This second online class, to be held on
May 21 & 22

will be a standard two-day workshop class.

and we'll ship the complete rudder kit to you (with any needed tools) before the workshop class, so you will have plenty of time for preparation before the actual live online class. Demo Flights and Factory Visits
: While our factory remains officially closed to the public,

Earlier today, Zenith demo pilot Roger Dubbert went flying to provide a
virtual demo flight
in the
STOL CH 750 "Sky Jeep
" light-sport aircraft. Four action video cameras on the plane (two inside and two on the outside, as well as one ground-based camera) recorded the demo flight as Roger explained the features and performance of the popular Zenith STOL. We'll post the video soon on the
Zenith YouTube channel
, and we plan to perform virtual demo flights of all Zenith models in the coming weeks.
