Rowaytonites,
We are going through the most unprecedented and unimaginable series of events and many changes have occurred recently in our little town. Your 6TD Commissioners wanted you to have the latest updates.

Accessibility
A number of Rowayton facilities are not currently as accessible as they usually are.
  • Bayley Beach is now completely closed in the name of community safety. This means no use of the beach, basketball court, playground or tennis courts.
  • The Paddle Courts have been closed by the RPTA Board.
  • The Rowayton Library has been closed by the Library Board.
  • The Dog Park is closed for the annual Spring re-seeding.
  • Vehicular access to Pinkney Park is closed but pedestrians are allowed.
  • All private association beaches are closed to the public. This includes the RBA Beach, South Beach and East Beach.

Garbage and Recycling
Garbage and recycling pick up is remaining on its regular schedule (Monday/Tuesday and Tuesday respectively).

Please patrol your recycling bin – place all recycled items loose in your blue bin, recycling materials in a plastic bag (clear or otherwise) will end up in the garbage. All recycling in any kind of plastic bag gets thrown away as garbage.

Yard Waste
The 6TD has had to suspend our weekly yard waste pick up as the City of Norwalk’s South Smith Street site is currently closed. There is talk that the site might be re-opened at the end of April. If there is a resumption in our service, we will post on Next Door and our Facebook page with a subsequent email blast.

We remind all residents that open fires of yard waste are strictly prohibited in all of Norwalk – including Rowayton. The Rowayton Fire Department will respond and any such fire will result in fines issued by the Rowayton Fire Marshal.

Train Station
While very few are commuting and using their train station parking permit, these are annual permits and they require monthly payment to be maintained.  Refunds are not an option and permits cannot be suspended. If you do want to cancel your permit, please contact  ParkingAdministrator@Rowayton6TD.com

6TD Office and Staff
The 6TD office in the Community Center is closed but our staff is working on a limited basis and reachable. You can reach anyone by calling our main number 203-854-6666 and choosing the appropriate extension.

April Commissioners Meeting
We have decided to cancel our April 15 th  monthly meeting. Our next meeting will be on May 20 th . If need be, our next meeting will be virtual (via Zoom).

Bayley Beach permits
The 6TD has cancelled the walk-in sessions for Bayley Beach permits scheduled for May 9 th  and 11 th . We urge all residents to mail in their applications with a self-addressed stamped envelope. The application and instructions can be found on our website  https://www.r6td.com/bayley-beach/ . In place of the walk-in sessions, we will have a drop off box and a collection box in the outside foyer of our offices at the Rowayton Community Center. Look for the sign for our office at the foot of the outdoor stone staircase to the left of the Library’s driveway entrance. If you have any questions, please contact our District Clerk  awoodworth@Rowayton6TD.com
