VOICES OF CARMEN
Sponsored by BOPA
Dance & Bmore announces its third season of Voices of Carmen, an innovative musical production and job readiness program that provides employment and on-the-job training for youth ages 14–21. In addition to the job experience and training this program offers, it also focuses on integrating Social Emotional Learning (SEL) through restorative practices, nonviolent communication, and small group discussions about emotional intelligence and healthy relationships.

Helmed by award-winning writer, director, and choreographer CJ Philip, Voices of Carmen blends pop, rap, and R&B with opera, bringing a contemporary spin to an iconic story filled with fresh yet familiar renditions of George Bizet's compositions and a dozen original songs written and arranged by CJay and Winston Philip. The culminating concerts begin Thursday, July 29 at 6:00 p.m. at Eager Park.
