PC students graduate online while waiting for traditional commencement ceremony this fall
PROVIDENCE — Sunday, May 17, marked Providence College's 102nd annual Commencement Exercises — although it's safe to say that this year's ceremony was quite unlike its many predecessors. The ongoing pandemic has impacted the graduation plans of high schools and colleges throughout the state, with the need for social distancing eliminating the tossed mortar boards and tearful final embraces which ordinarily serve as staples of such events. Instead, the Class of 2020 had to content themselves with a livestreamed virtual ceremony — at least for the time being.

Pope to lead world shrines in rosary prayer for pandemic May 30

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Pope Francis will lead the major shrines around the world in praying the rosary to implore Mary's intercession and protection amid the coronavirus pandemic.

As we return to Public Worship...
Father Nathan Ricci, Assistant Chancellor of the Diocese of Providence, joined Dan Yorke on "Dan Yorke State of Mind" to discuss the new limitations imposed on religious gatherings and offered profound spiritual guidance to help cope with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Live-streamed and pre-recorded Masses
**Please consult parish websites, bulletins, and social media often for the most up-to-date Mass times as we slowly move to resume public worship. Be reminded that some parishes may continue with live-streaming liturgies, Mass times may change, and each parish will have guidelines in place for parishioners.**

Regular Masses
During the COVID-19 Crisis, regular Masses continue to be posted on the diocesan website page dedicated to parish live-streamed/pre-recorded Masses. Find it here.

Special Devotions & Public Worship
As in the past, please consult your parish's bulletin, website, and social media pages for the specifics relative to special devotions, the Rosary, and more. Find parish contact and website information here .

Your past donation helped us to share, support and inform our fellow Rhode Islander's before and throughout this crisis - - including the faithful, parishioners, those in need, and the public.

As expected, support of the 2020 Catholic Communication Campaign is more vital now than ever. We hope we can rely on your support, no matter how small, to help us to continue to share the good news and the Gospel message.

50% of the funds raised stay right here in the Diocese of Providence to support local communications projects as mentioned above. The other 50% supports national communications efforts as well as projects in developing countries.

Thank you in advance for your support and may God bless and care for you and yours as we continue navigate this crisis.
