The What & The Who

What is the PVO?

The PVO is the Parent Volunteer Organization for GREEN Charter School of the Midlands. As the name implies, it is mostly made up of parents who want to help support GCOM. The PVO has two main focuses - Volunteer Coordination and Fundraising. Both of these are areas that any family member can be a part of. There is no fee to be a part of the PVO.

Who runs the PVO?

The PVO is run by a group of parents who have volunteered their time to coordinate fundraisers, events, volunteers and so much more! Together with an Administration Representative and a Teacher Representative, they help to make sure that events run smoothly and that the school can be provided with things it needs outside of standard items, like the AED machine that was acquired the first year!

Meet The Team

President - Denise Penney : The president will preside over organization and executive board meetings as well as represent the GCOM PVO outside the organization. It is also the president's duty to coordinate the work of all the officers and committees so that the purpose of the GCOM PVO is served.

Vice President/Secretary- Liz Schinke : The VP will assist the president and carry out the president's duties in her abscence. The VP will also oversee the committees of the GCOM PVO. As secretary, she shall keep all records of the organization, record minutes, prepare the agenda and handle correspondence.

Event Coordinator- Kaela Cameron: The event coordinator will organize and oversee all GCOM PVO events including, but not limited to, selecting venues, determining event cost, arranging event services and monitoring board approval.

Volunteer Coordinator- Nakesha "Kesha" Ancrum:  The volunteer coordinator will recruit parents/guardians to assist with GCOM events/activities and build a friendly relationship with all members as well as coordinate help as needed for events.

Box Tops For Education

The OLD Box Tops For Education Traditional Box Tops clips are being phased out of production, but may continue to be found on many products throughout the store. You can still clip and send them to school. Every valid Box Tops clip is worth 10¢ for your school.  Make sure each one has a clearly visible product acronym and expiration date. * All valid Box Tops clips submitted per the Program Rules by a Coordinator(s) of (an) eligible, enrolled school(s) will be honored.

The NEW Box Tops For Education Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only. Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Top label. If you see this label, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10¢ each for your school. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online.
