Reopening Update July 24, 2020

The Church of the Mountains (COM) relaunching team would like to thank you as we carefully work towards re-opening our Church building.  Before re-opening the building for outdoor worship, small groups, and in the future indoor worship, we must have a plan and the approval of the District Superintendent.

At this time the church property is still closed except for the Emergency Warming Center & Respite Day Center as they are considered, essential businesses.

Our Congregation survey provided information from 28 survey replies,  we found that: 65% of survey respondents expressed an interest in outdoor worship ; 46% are interested in small physically distanced groups outside, and 31% expressed being comfortable inside the church if we had a formal plan for physical distancing, face coverings and with cleaning & sanitizing protocols approved, and in place.   With this insight we are putting together our plan for approval of outdoor worship and small groups with 10 or less people both outdoors or indoors.

We hope to be able to implement an outdoor worship on August 16 th  at 10am, in our back yard!   Until then will continue Zoom Worship on Sunday at 10am and be recording the sermon’s which will be on YouTube and posted to the website and shared via email. Click Here for last Sundays Sermon!

We will continue our regular online small groups:  Centering Prayer, Tuesday 9am and Enneagram Group typically the 2 nd  Thursday of each month.  And scheduled times over Zoom with Pastor Vicki on Monday’s and Thursday’s.    All of these opportunities have more information and Zoom links on our website:  www.churchofthemountains.com
We will continue to send updates and more details as we progress.

Thank you for your support during these challenging times, as we proceed, being mindful of John Wesley’s three simple rules:  Do No Harm. Do Good. Stay in Love with God .

Feel free to reach out to Pastor Vicki or Cathie if you have questions.

With Peace, Hope & Love ~
