Happy Spring!

Welcome to the third issue of Fresh Finds, Calvert County’s agricultural newsletter.

With spring’s arrival, farmers markets in the county will begin to open in late April or early May for the season. Although early in Calvert County’s growing season, you can expect to find bedding plants, lettuces, greens, radishes, mushrooms and other produce. In addition, dairy, meats, eggs, baked goods, flowers and other specialty items will be offered. As the season progresses, additional produce options become available.

You don’t want to miss the 35th Annual Children’s Day on the Farm on Sunday, June 5 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum. This favorite family event focuses on farm life in rural Maryland. Local farmers donate animals for the petting zoo and farm equipment for display.
The ‘Upcoming Events’ section is bursting with workshops, conferences, and events!
