It's Long Past Time for the World to Change

On the first anniversary of George Floyd's death, Conference Minister Rev. Shari Prestemon calls on every individual and congregation in the Minnesota Conference and beyond to commit in the year ahead to do at least one thing to grow awareness of racism and how it shows up where you are and to deepen your commitment to dismantling racism wherever and however you see it. Listen to her words.

Dwelling in the Word with the Damascus Project

We are living in an uncertain and transitional time. In some ways, life is returning to some version of normal, and in other ways we are very much impacted by the ongoing pandemic. Now is the perfect time to come together in community to listen for Jesus’ wisdom through the parables. In June and July, join with like-minded folks as together we dwell in the word.

Dwelling in the Word is a spiritual practice in which we open our hearts and minds to the Spirit’s call as it comes to us through the scriptures. It is also an opportunity to take a pause in your week and practice listening for and noticing God’s presence in our world and in our lives. Come once or come every time. No preparation needed. And when we say 30 minutes, we mean it!

Thursdays, 12–12:30 pm CT, June 10, 17, 24 and July 8, 15, 22 (no meeting July 1)

Stewardship & OCWM Topics of Two Annual Meeting Workshops

So much is changing with the way individuals feel about giving to their church, which is why all stewardship committee members and church finance people are invited to attend “Courageous Generosity: The Church Stewardship Paradigm 2.0” on Tuesday evening, June 8, for a frank discussion of stewardship efforts post-pandemic.

Then, on Wednesday evening, June 9, newcomers and longtime UCCer’s will find the “Our Conference Wants Money” is NOT What OCWM Stands For!” Our Church’s Wider Mission (OCWM) is the primary funding tool for the ministries of the Minnesota Conference and our denomination nationally, and is the financial covenant churches, conferences, and the denomination have with each other to share Jesus’ extravagant welcome. Read more about these and all the other Annual Meeting workshops HERE.
