President,
Hebrew SeniorLife Health Care Services and Hebrew Rehabilitation Center

Dear Colleagues,

Hebrew Rehabilitation Center's Boston campus, the flagship of Hebrew SeniorLife, has offered programs and services to older adults since it was built in 1963. After more than 50 years, it's clear that the campus is due for revitalization. That's why over the next five to seven years, we'll transform HRC Boston so it reflects the industry-leading programs that it houses. We've already begun by creating a new space for our adult day health program, Great Days for Seniors, which you can read about it in the article included below.

This summer, work will continue with a new household that will pilot our vision for long-term chronic care that provides a more home-like environment for patients. As our work takes shape, we look forward to sharing more on these renovations with you.

Palliative Care Program Expands to In-Home Care

Hebrew SeniorLife Home Care now offers a palliative care program. This expansion of our services fills a critical gap in the care of patients with chronic illness who want to prevent frequent hospitalizations and enjoy a better quality of life.

Adult Day Health Program Welcomes Spring from New Location at HRC

Program participants in our adult day health program, Great Days for Seniors, their families and staff are enjoying the sights and smells of spring from their new space, adjacent to a patio built last year at HRC Boston. This newly renovated space provides easy access to the outdoors, exercise opportunities, and therapy services, and has ample space for activities and socialization.

Encourage Patients to Discuss Health Care Wishes

We are one of 70 local organizations joining forces with the Massachusetts Coalition on Serious Illness Care to encourage adults to increase their health care fluency and talk to loved ones about what matters most to them. We ask that you join us in empowering adults across the Commonwealth to advocate for their own health goals, values, and preferences at all stages of life.

Results Are in: Bundled Care Payments Improves Care at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center

When Hebrew Rehabilitation Center enacted the Bundled Payments Care Improvements initiative, not only did we see Medicare savings of $1.2 million, but we also improved quality of care for our patients, leading to a reduction in average patient stay and our highest recorded patient satisfaction rates to date!
