Protecting and Expanding Safe Indoor Dining

The IRA team continues to be 100% focused on providing vital advocacy, guidance, and resources to our state's 25,000 eating and drinking establishments and the vendors that supply our industry. We recognize, as all operators do, that the most important factor that will determine the success or failure of restaurants is the number of people they are permitted to serve on a regular basis.

Right now, the IRA's top priority is advocating to increase indoor occupancy in the city of Chicago, while protecting indoor occupancy around the state of Illinois from further mitigation. We are regularly communicating with local and state officials about the vital needs of hospitality operators during this critical time.

Restaurants' business models were not designed to be restricted to 25% capacity, and without greater indoor occupancy - many restaurants will not be able to keep their doors open in winter months. We need greater opportunity and flexibility in order to keep people employed and serve communities in a safe and smart way across the state.

The IRA continues to actively seek solutions for our industry and fight for your business to be able to survive now and thrive in the future.
