Santa Clara County Moves to the Orange Tier
|
|
Effective Wednesday, March 24, Santa Clara County will operate in the "moderate" Orange Tier under the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy as COVID-19 cases continue to trend downward. While COVID-19 transmission rates and hospitalizations have shown some progress, please continue to social distance, wear a mask, and minimize indoor gatherings. The Orange Tier allows for more allowed business activities as outlined below:

Indoor dining: 50% indoor capacity or 200 people, whichever is fewer

Outdoor dining: allowed with modifications

Gyms and fitness centers: 25% indoor capacity; climbing walls and pools may open but indoor hot tubs and saunas must remain closed

General retail: Open with modifications

Indoor shopping malls: Open with modifications (closed common areas; reduced capacity food courts)

Grocery stores: Open with modifications
-
Hair salons and personal care services: Open with modifications

Family entertainment centers: Naturally distanced activities (bowling, escape rooms) can open indoors at 25% capacity. Go-kart racing, mini golf, and batting cages must remain outdoors only

Movie Theaters: 50% indoor capacity or 200 people, whichever is fewer

Cardrooms: 25% indoor capacity

Wineries, breweries, distilleries (where meals are not served): 25% indoor capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer

Bars (where meals are not served): Outdoor only

Indoor museums: Open with modifications; indoor activities limited to 50% capacity

Places of worship: Indoor activities must be limited to 50% capacity

Hotels: Open with modifications (fitness centers limited to 25% capacity)

In partnership with Regional Lending Manager Chris Horton of the NorCal Small Business Development Center and Deputy District Director Carlos Gutierrez of the San Francisco District Office of the Small Business Administration, the City of Milpitas is excited to hold its next business webinar tomorrow, March 25 at 11am. The speakers will share details about ongoing SBA resources and financial assistance programs, as well as an update to Orange Tier guidelines for Santa Clara County. Please click here to register.

Approaching Deadlines: California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant
|
|
Don’t miss these upcoming deadlines to apply for the next round of the CA Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant, which gives eligible businesses grants ranging from $5,000-$25,000. Please see below for upcoming funding rounds and deadlines. For more information on eligibility criteria and to find a lender, visit their website.
Round 4: Tuesday, March 16th through Friday, March 26th
- Eligible applicants: Only non-profit cultural institutions with any revenue size that meet eligibility criteria

Details: Eligible non-profit cultural institutions must complete a new application even if they already applied in Rounds 1 and 2. Grants will only be available to non-profits cultural institutions that did not receive funding in Rounds 1, 2 or 3. Grants will be prioritized based on the documented percentage revenue declines based on a reporting period comparing Q2 and Q3 of 2020 versus Q2 and Q3 of 2019
Round 5: Thursday, March 25th through Wednesday, March 31st
- Eligible applicants: current waitlisted small businesses and non-profits not selected in Rounds 1, 2, or 3 and new applicants

Details: Applicants not selected to receive a grant in Rounds 1, 2, & 3 do not need to reapply as they will be automatically moved into Round 5. New applicants will need to apply at CAReliefGrant.com
There will also be a Round 6 for new applicants – more details to come soon.
