Updates on Our Community

Back to School 2021
Choice Shopping, Regular Hours Return
School is in session and we are back to our traditional choice shopping and schedule.

Come shop with us on August 30 and then on the second and fourth Mondays of each month during the school year.

We are open from 3 to 5 p.m. on the third floor of the Educare building next to Springboro Junior High School. Volunteers are available to help you shop.

Please bring your proof of residency in the Springboro School District.
Christ Church Collects School Supplies
THANK YOU seems inadequate for Pastor Steve Rudisill and Christ United Methodist Church South Campus who this year have supplied EVERYTHING we could possibly need.

If your child still needs school supplies, stop by during our regular hours (see above).
Sinclair Donates Cold Weather Wear
THANK YOU to Sinclair Community College and volunteers Nancy and Hannah. Sinclair donated dozens of sweatshirts to share with our neighbors as the weather turns cold. Nancy and Hannah organized and stacked them for us.
Church Food Drives Continue
Springboro churches continue their commitment to keep the SCAC shelves stocked.

Thank you to Jubilee Church who hosted its food drive in August (pictured above). Real Life Church is up next and will host it's drive from Sept. 12 to 26.

Learn more about Real Life Church by visiting its website.
Oktoberfest Returns at Springboro UCC
Oktoberfest Springboro returns September 10 and 11.

This great community event, held as a drive through last year, benefits many charities in our area, including the SCAC.

Volunteers are needed to make this event a success. If you can help, please sign up!

Learn more, volunteer and mark your calendars by following them on Facebook.
Campaign Launched to Help Dear Friend
Resource Coordinator Autumn LeBu is a familiar face at the SCAC. Her bright smile and bubbly personality make a difference every day.

Autumn now needs help herself and her colleagues and friends have stepped up.

"A few weeks ago during a routine ultrasound, it was discovered that our baby has a hole in his diaphragm allowing his lower organs to move into his chest," Autumn shared earlier in August. "This has made it difficult for his lungs to develop normally."

Autumn, her husband and their five-year-old son, are anticipating the arrival of baby Jameson knowing they are at the beginning of a long journey with many expenses.

Friends have organized a campaign to help. You can learn more and donate to help by clicking here.
What We Need
Springboro Community Assistance Center is grateful for all donations. Here is what we need the most right now.

  • salad dressing
  • jelly
  • mayonnaise
  • juice
  • snack items (chips, crackers, pretzels, Cheez-it’s, Goldfish & granola bars)
  • sweet treats (cookies, Rice Krispie treats & candy)
  • dishwasher detergent/pacs
  • bleach
  • trash bags
  • Ziploc bags (gallon, quart, sandwich & snack size)
  • napkins
  • hand/body lotion
  • dog food

There are drop boxes outside the Educare building next to Springboro Junior High School (1629 South Main Street, Springboro, Ohio). Donations are accepted at any time!
Register Your Grocery Cards
You can help SCAC keep the food flowing in many different ways. If you shop at Kroger or Dorothy Lane Market, register your rewards cards so their Community Rewards and Good Neighbor Programs benefit SCAC.

Over the summer, more than 90 households donated to SCAC through their Kroger Plus cards.

Go online to www.kroger.com or www.dorothylane.com or visit customer service. A percentage of your total will be donated to SCAC every time you shop.
PayPal Allows Recurring Donations
Did you know: SCAC accepts donations via PayPal. Want to give regularly? Set up a recurring donation!

If you give from a bank account instead of a credit card, there are no fees! (We pay the fees which reduces your donation.) And it's secure!

Thanks to everyone who has already donated through PayPal and who set up recurring donations! We appreciate you!

If you prefer to send a check, you can mail it to Springboro Community Assistance Center, P.O. Box 1042, Springboro, Ohio 45066, or stop by with your donation during our distribution hours on Mondays between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.
