Back to School Family Support

As children go back to school, connect families seeking help with basic needs to a local Family Resource Center:

• CAPSLO: Any family in the Lucia Mar Unified School District (South County); also in many San Luis Coastal Unified schools (SLO, Morro Bay, Los Osos). In English/Spanish. Walk-in support in Paso Robles, Oceano, Nipomo, and Arroyo Grande.
• The Link: Any family in North County; also in many San Luis Coastal Unified schools. In English/Spanish. Call Carrie, 805-794-0217.
• Pregnancy and Parenting Support: For families with children ages 0-5, in English/Spanish.
• Los Osos Cares: Assistance for Estero Bay (Los Osos, Morro Bay, Cayucos) families.
• MICOP: For indigenous Mexican families, with services in Mixteco and Spanish including case management for benefits. Call Celeste Gregorio, 805-296-3386.

Medi-Cal Dental Coverage - Benefits Extended

The proposal to eliminate Medi‑Cal Dental benefits for adults who are undocumented or have certain immigration status has been delayed until July 1, 2027. This means these members will continue to receive full dental benefits until July 1, 2027 (and hopefully longer if the California Legislature continues to protect this benefit).

Encourage affected clients to keep up on their dental care in case this benefit is eliminated next year.

​If you have clients currently enrolled in Medi-Cal who are looking for dental care, please refer them to this list to view local dental providers who accept Medi-Cal: slocounty.ca.gov/findadentist.

Paso Robles WIC Office has Reopened, How to Refer

The Paso Robles WIC Office has reopened! It is open Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-5:30 pm and Friday 8:00-4:30 pm at 805 4th Street, Suite 235.

Find office hours and locations for all SLO County WIC offices here. Families can choose in-person or remote appointments at any WIC location.

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) helps families during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood with groceries, nutrition and breastfeeding support, and more. Services are in English, Spanish and Mixteco and there is no immigration status requirement.

Refer a family to WIC today: Community partners can support families by completing the short Community Partner Referral form. Information is kept confidential and used only to contact the family about WIC enrollment. A member of the WIC team will follow up within 48 hours.

Local Resource Updates

Martha's Place | Currently No Waitlist

Martha's Place is a San Luis Obispo County Behavioral Health program that provides integrated Mental Health and Public Health services for children from birth to age 5 (and up to age 7 with a pediatrician referral) who have Medi-Cal and are experiencing behavioral concerns, developmental delays, sensory issues, or prenatal substance exposure. Services include specialized assessments, individual and family therapy, case management, and, when appropriate, pediatric medication management.

There is no waitlist right now! Families can begin the referral process by calling Behavioral Health Managed Care at 800-838-1381 for a brief screening, followed by a Martha's Place screening call.
