Hello Family Reunification Partners,
We just received notice from ORR that the following changes have been made to the Authorization for Release of Information (ARI) and Family Reunification Application (FRA), provided to sponsors by the shelter case managers. The following changes have been implemented as of 6/27/19, and are described below.
Authorization for Release of Information
- Added a step under "How to complete this application" requiring the sponsor to read and sign the Sponsor Declaration (page 1)
- Added clarification that only sponsors who are not U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents are required to provide information for an adult caregiver (page 5)
- Added a requirement to provide proof of immigration status or U.S. citizenship documentation under the Supporting Documents section (page 9)
- Updated the Proof of Relationship table to include documents that are acceptable to prove a primary caregiver relationship with the UAC (page 11)
Family Reunification Application
- Added a statement and footnote explaining that DHS is restricted from using information obtained from ORR for immigration enforcement actions, with certain exceptions, through September 30, 2019 (page 1)
The updated FRP will be posted in the UAC Portal and the ORR website shortly if you would like to see these changes.
If you have any questions or concerns about the updated forms, please contact your assigned CSS.
Thank you,
