Dear KHS Parents and Guardians,

It has been an incredible start to the 2025–2026 school year!  We officially welcome our 8th graders in the class of 2030. We also wish our seniors the best of luck in the Class of 2026 as they prepare for their final year as a Bomber. It has been exciting to see our staff reconnect with our students with smiles and conversations.

Students are adjusting very well to the some of the changes implemented this year in the schedule as well as some of our building operations. Over the last two days, I have observed outstanding instruction within the classrooms witnessing strong student engagement and focus. I look forward to many more visits throughout the year to see the student growth and high academic achievement in all grade levels.

A few reminders for next week:

Grade Level Meetings

Class meetings will take place on Monday in the auditorium. Students will review building expectations as well as hear from their class officers. They will be exposed to community service opportunities and how to sign up to receive needed hours. We will also share information on our extracurricular clubs and activities. A shared calendar will be created by the club advisors with specific meeting dates and times to prevent overlap.

Benchmark Screening

Also on Monday, students in grades 8, 9, and 10 will take a short Math and English Language Arts benchmark screener. This assessment will take place during class. This is not a graded test as its purpose is to help teachers see where students are excelling and where they may need extra support. The results give us a clear snapshot of each student’s current skills, so we can tailor instruction to meet their needs and track progress throughout the year. No

Open House

On Wednesday, August 20 KHS invites all parents to attend the 1st semester Open House beginning at 7:00 pm. You will have the opportunity to meet your child's teachers and learn more about what they will be learning in each class. While touring the building, you will have an opportunity to meet teachers, administrators, and school counselors. District booster groups will also be present for membership applications. Please bring a copy of your child's schedule with you or access the schedule using the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

If you have further questions, please contact the KHS Main Office.

Here’s to a great start to the 2025–2026 school year and Go Bombers!
