Upper Kirby Construction
Westheimer Pavement Installation Moving Quikly
Westheimer Reconstruction:
Kirby to Buffalo Speedway
New Pavement at the River Oaks/Westheimer Intersection

Upper Kirby construction projects are buttoning things down today in preparation for inclement weather. On Westheimer, crews have made significant progress with pavement efforts on the south side of the roadway. New pavement is down between Kirby and Virginia and form work is complete between Virginia and Sackett. Once the storm has passed, crews will look to pour this section and continue towards new pavement west of Eastside. Look for further updates on progress impacts due to the storm over the weekend.

Bissonnet Reconstruction:
Kirby to Buffalo Speedway

The Bissonnet project has been bid and awarded to Reytec Construction Resources. While work was anticipated to begin this week, it appears to be prudent to delay mobilization until after Tropical Storm/Hurricane Harvey passes through. Construction will likely begin later next week. Construction will begin moving west from Dincans on the north side of the roadway with storm sewer installation and new pavement. Existing medians will be preserved and traffic control will utilize existing median openings to shift traffic around the construction zone. Look for further updates as sequencing plans are finalized.

Don't Miss the Chevron Houston Marathon
Run for a Reason Kickoff Party

At the end of August the Houston Marathon will be hosting a Run for a Reason Kickoff, which serves not only as the "official" start to training season, but also as a time for charity partners to recruit runners for their teams. This is typically the time of year when open registration for the marathon sells out, so charity entries may be the only way to enter the race moving forward. So, whether you're signed up already or looking to join a charity team, make sure you attend the kickoff party next week!
