Crews are now working on the north side of Westheimer between Eastside and just west of River Oaks Boulevard. Over the last week, they have been removing the old pavement and will continue this effort over the coming week. Crews also began installation of water and storm sewer infrastructure in this section.
Lateral storm line work is now complete on Sackett. Work over the past week has focused on base pavement installation, now complete between Alabama and Philfall. Crews also began saw-cutting the pavement for inlet leads to connect inlets on the other side of the street to the new system. Storm work on Elbert and the restoration of the Philfall/
Sackett intersection still remains on this piece of the project. Once all underground work has been completed, workers will overlay the entire roadway. During construction, two-way traffic will be maintained, although on street parking will not be available.
Westheimer Reconstruction:
Kirby to Shepherd
Upper Kirby work on Westheimer between Kirby and Shepherd has been substantially complete since February, 2016 and has been awaiting removal of overhead utilities by various telecommunications companies prior to finalizing the back of curb area.
Lines were finally removed May 11th and 12th. Once CenterPoint Energy removes the poles, the back of curb area will be restored.

A Westheimer Free of Overhead Power |
Comcast is the sole utility on the poles remaining between Kirby and Buffalo Speedway. Comcast has indicated that work would be completed late this month. Look for further updates as this work progresses.
Bissonnet Reconstruction:
Kirby to Buffalo Speedway
Work on Bissonnet between Kirby and Buffalo Speedway was stopped late last year due to a contractor dispute. Work began between the Kirby intersection and Dincans on the north side of the street. Upper Kirby retained a second contractor to complete work on this area. This contractor completed this work just prior to the holidays. The remainder of the work has been repackaged for a new bid. The project will be bid in June with construction
likely
beginning in July.
