Westheimer Storm Drainage and Street Reconstruction:

New concrete work is nearing completion on the Westheimer storm drainage and roadway improvements project between Kirby and Buffalo Speedway. Pavement improvements are currently underway through the Buffalo Spdwy/Westheimer intersection. Traffic, north and southbound on Buffalo  Spdwy, is relegated to a single lanes.

New sidewalks are in process on the north side of Westheimer at the intersection of River Oaks Blvd west to Buffalo  Spdwy. New sidewalks are near complete on the south side of Westheimer  from Eastside st. to Sackett st.

West of  Kirby, crews have been working on future sidewalks and back-of-curb excavation. Conduit for future pedestrian lighting and irrigation for landscape is near complete. This work will continue through next few weeks.

Bissonnet Storm Drainage  and Street Reconstruction:

Work on Bissonnet between Kirby and Buffalo Speedway continued this week with roadway and utility improvement activities through about 400 feet of roadway just east of Buffalo Speedway.  Crews are currently excavating the roadway and installing the new waterline.

Concurrent work is in progress on the north side of Bissonnet between Dincans and Wakeforest. West bound traffic has been relegated to a single lane in this area. Over the next month, crews will be installing new storm systems and restoring the pavement  with the goal of opening up the roadway between Kirby and Wakeforest by the holidays. New landscape and irrigation on the south side of Bissonnet  between Kirby and Wakeforest will resume after the first of the year.

Eastside Street Utility and Streetscape Improvements:
Demolition  began the week of October 30th on Eastside Street  adjacent to Levy Park. The southbound vehicle lane and adjacent sidewalks are in process of being be removed. One lane in either direction is being maintained through the construction zone, however there will be no on street parking available. Over the next few months work in this area will include installation of new water lines, improvements on storm drainage, and improvements  on roadway  lighting.
