As I mentioned at the
What You Need To Know For The Upcoming School Year PA event, our Open Studio Night is the time to experience your child's academic day. You will meet with their teachers, hear from students who have taken the same classes, see exhibits of student work, participate in some activities, and chat with many members of the community. This is not the time to ask personal questions about your child in the class; you will have time to do that during our parent-teacher conferences on October 10 and 19. There will be no formal presentations given; instead, the goal is for you to go from class to class at your own pace. I and other members of the Upper School community will also be available to answer any questions.
In addition, you will also have the opportunity to attend drop-in sessions about Canvas, our new Learning Management System, for which you just received login information. Our BVR IT team will be there to help you log in and navigate the platform. Nancy Collins Director of Athletics, Danielle da Silva Director of College Counseling, and Liz Latour Director of the Hiatt Center for Social Justice and Civic Engagement will also be available to answer any questions about their programs and plans for the year.
