Great hearts, generous hearts, are required in the family of God’s Heart, because the difficulties in the way of doing good increase day by day.

Textbooks and Supplies

If you have not purchased textbooks for the 20-21 school year, please log into MBS Direct and purchase books; the link for MBS is located on the parent resource page at ashrosary.myschoolapp.com.

The supply list is located under Upper School Information on the parent resource page at ashrosary.myschoolapp.com.
First Day of School

The first day of school is Thursday, August 13. Homeroom will begin at 7:55 AM. It is an A Day. Friday August 14 is a B Day. We are planning for all students to be on campus. If your daughter can not be on campus for a COVID related health concern, reach out directly to Julie Boyd, Upper School Division Head at [email protected].
Traffic Flow and Schedule

To reduce the number of students in the hallways at any given time we have implemented a slightly adjusted daily schedule for the 20-21 school year as well as designated one-way stairwells and hallways whenever possible.
Masks

When on campus, all students in grades 9-12, faculty and staff will wear masks. In the classroom, students will wear masks with brief mask breaks during the day. When students are eating, they will not wear masks, but will maintain six feet of physical distancing. In P.E. and Dance, some activities may require a mask to be removed temporarily. In the first days of school, faculty will work with students on mask safety and protocols.

Click here for more information on school appropriate masks. In a recent phone call with Children’s Hospital, it was suggested that students might want to bring an extra mask in case they lose their mask or sneeze or the mask falls on the floor.
Campus

Campus will open to students at 7:20 AM and close at 3:45. All Upper School students will need to enter through either the front gates on St. Charles & front doors or the large gate on Carondelet by PJs & Cadiz street door. Upon arrival temperatures will be scanned electronically. Students with a temperature over 100.1 will not be allowed to enter the building.
Laptop/Tablet Cameras

One of the things that we learned this spring during the stay at home order was that it would have been helpful, at times, for students to be able to use their tablet/laptop cameras. Cameras for new students and 9th graders are enabled. We are working with students in grades 10-12 to enable all of their cameras. Students are reminded that whenever using their cameras, they need to be properly attired and should be in a public area of the home. Please note the Upper School Parent Student Handbook has been adjusted to reflect this change.
Handbook

The Upper School Parent/Student handbook is updated, posted online and ready for your signature. You may access it on the Resource Board of the Parent Portal or https://www.ashrosary.org/ushandbook. As with every year, there are updates throughout the book, so we appreciate your attention to this important matter. You may submit your signature on this webpage electronically, or by signing and returning the last page of the handbook.
