The reviews are pouring in for Upstream Theater's Diary of a Madman, and they're all saying the same thing: go see this play!
Christopher Harris (last seen as Yank in The Hairy Ape) plays a Russian civil servant whose struggle to rise above the mindless routine brings him to the brink of delusion-and beyond. He is joined by Magan Wiles who has returned to St. Louis to play several roles in this production that is both hilarious and heartbreaking at once. With live music by Joe Dreyer. Directed by Philip Boehm. Stage design by Michael Heil, costumes by Katie Donovan, lighting by Steve Carmichael and props by Claudia Mink Horn.
