The Vision of Uptown Church:
Giving yourself for God’s Kingdom
God has called Uptown Church to experience the full life that is found only in Christ and to share that life with people in Charlotte and around the world. But what does that mean for you? What part is God calling you to fulfill in this great mission? As Uptown Church shares this life as transforming community, loving witness, helping neighbor, and planting churches how will God use your hands, heart, talent, and treasure to extend his kingdom into the lives of others? This series explains the vision of Uptown Church and will help you know your place in that biblical vision.

Join us on Saturday, January 26, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Resource Center at Uptown Church. Panelists will include Rick and Karen Smith, Tom and Ann Hawkes, and Rob and Dottie Bryan.

Light refreshments will be served. We look forward to hosting you! Keep an eye out for an email with a link to submit questions for the panel in the following weeks.
Meals for Johnson & Wales RUF
Every Sunday, JWU RUF hosts its leadership team for a meal and study. This weekly gathering has become the cornerstone of ministry at Johnson & Wales . Each week, students deepen their relationship with each other around the dinner table, and grow in their walk with Christ in our study.

One way the church can serve the students is by providing a Sunday meal during the Spring semester. The meal will serve 9 people and will need to be delivered or coordinated before the 7pm Sunday meeting. The sign up link can be found below. This is a great service project for Life Groups!

If you have any questions you can contact Michael Whitham 918-513-2703.

We would love for YOU to join us! If interested, please e-mail Ginni Fischer.
Upcoming Adult Ed Classes Jan/Feb
The Great I AM
Teachers: Forde Britt, Mark Skylling, Bryan Zumbach, and Chris Van Roekel
Location: Resource Center

The Great I AM...Jesus? Jesus uses seven "I AM" statements in the book of John, a name God uses for himself in the Old Testament. What is the significance of these statements? How do they impact the identity of Jesus? We will explore what Jesus is saying in these statements and the multitude of implications that follow.

Bad Christian Books: Sifting Truth from Error in Popular Christian Authors
Teacher: Mike Kruger
Location: 3rd Floor Boardroom

We live in an age that has enjoyed an explosion in Christian publishing. And while many of these books are good, that is not true for all of them. This class will examine some of the most problematic Christian books in recent years, so we can learn to distinguish truth from error. Examples include,  Love Wins  (Rob Bell),  Girl Wash Your Face  (Rachel Hollis),  Irresistible  (Andy Stanley),  The Bible Tells Me So  (Peter Enns),  Your Best Life Now  (Joel Osteen),  A Year of Biblical Womanhood  (Rachel Held Evans), and more.
Staff Changes
Welcome to Morgan Herrington who joins us as the new Youth Intern this week. She grew up in southern Georgia and graduated from Georgia Southern University. Before moving to Charlotte, Morgan was on staff with Campus Outreach ministering to women at Georgia College and State University. This past summer she moved to Charlotte to pursue her masters in biblical counseling at RTS. She looks forward to spending time with the youth and getting to know the families at Uptown!
