Uptown Updates:
October 31st
God sends all of his people on a mission for him. Each of us has a different mission call, a distinct place of service with our own particular mission field. The book of Jonah demonstrates God’s heart for missions, our reluctance to follow God’s call, and God’s work in helping us, finally, answer his call to our own mission field.

Women's Ministry Jesse Tree Party - Nov. 7 - Register NOW!
All ladies are invited to join Uptown Women's Ministry on Nov. 7th from 7:00-8:30pm as we enjoy a Jesse Tree Party! The Jesse Tree is a wonderful way to celebrate the incarnation of Christ and the whole story of the Bible with your family each Christmas! The party will be at Janet Lowder's house (address is 2210 Thornridge Road). Find more info about the party and register online. This event is limited to 25 women due to the need for every woman to make 25 of one ornament. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. We can't wait to enjoy this special time together as we prepare for the Christmas season! Email Ginni Larkins with questions.
Seeking Artists for Lessons and Carols
Each year, Uptown invites artists in the congregation to participate in Lessons and Carols by creating original artwork relating to the Scripture passages and/or songs in the program. This artwork will be included in the L&C worship guide and displayed in a silent auction. If you are interested in contributing a piece of visual art this year, please email Arielle Wellons. (Completed artwork will need to be dropped off at the church by November 24th this year.)

Current Adult Ed Classes November/December
Galatians: Living in line with the truth of the Gospel

Teachers: Caleb Standafer, Andrew Holmes, Ryan Bowen, Aaron Kees
Where: 3rd floor boardroom

The book of Galatians is Paul's loving and unapologetic correction to the church in Galatia as they had contorted the gospel by insisting that keeping the Old Testament ceremonial law was required for salvation. Like many of Paul's letters, Galatians reinforces the true Gospel and in many ways lays the foundation for the core tenets of Christian theology. This corrective letter is an excellent resource for both believers and nonbelievers, as it challenges and encourages us to pursue the holiness that only unmerited grace provides the true freedom to pursue - please join us!
Practicing the King's Economy

Teachers: Drew Harris, Adam Dyer, Matt Taylor, Michael Richter, Grae Garrison
Where: Resource Center

Are you looking for a class on budgeting strategies? Well, this class may not be for you. However, if you are looking for ways to think about how and why you spend your money and what our Lord might think of our economic priorities, well this is the right place! Based upon the book “Practicing the King’s Economy,” we will examine some of the principles and practices for how our economics can align with the Lord’s.
