One Grove Alliance is proud to be part of the Stronger Miami Coalition which is driving a petition campaign to place a charter amendment on the November 4, 2025 ballot. This vital initiative would create smaller, more responsive commission districts by adding four districts —a major step toward a more representative and equitable city government. We need your help to get it done.
Why it Matters to YOU
- Make City Commission districts smaller
Expand from 5 to 9 districts to make Commissioners more responsive and accountable to their neighborhoods
Districts must follow real geographic boundaries and keep communities intact.
- Moves elections to even-numbered years
Aligning with state and federal elections increases voter turnout.
- Lowers the vote threshold from 4/5ths to 2/3rds
Currently, just 3 of 5 commissioners can control every major decision. This reform ensures broader consensus and reduces backroom dealmaking.

We’ll be meeting regularly over the next few months as we organize for a more representative Miami.
