The EMS Region III 2011 "Partners for Life" Annual Conference and Expo is fast approaching. A record number of participants from more than 20 states will be gathering in Ruidoso, New Mexico, April 25 -May 1. The conference involves a full program of high-profile speakers and pre-conference sessions along with a large exhibition of suppliers. The conference is also full of special events where you can connect with your peers for a little rest and relaxation as well as some fun and laughter! EMS Region III Golf Tournament, Thursday, April 28  Few Slots Still Open

Please join EMS Region III, in partnership with NativeAir, for EMS Region III's "Partners for Life" Golf Tournament at Golf Magazine's Top 10 New Private Golf Course - Rainmakers -- a course that beckons players to create their own challenge or relax in their abilities. The 2-person scramble is slated for Thursday, April 28, 2011, with a shotgun start at 10:00AM. Registration will open at 8:30AM. We have room for only 84 players (42) team, and will fill openings on a first pay/first play basis. Spots sell out fast, so don't delay submitting your registration. Event will be held, rain or shine! Your entry fee includes:  18 holes of golf - scramble format (2 mulligans per player) cart, free range balls, green fees, favors, and catered lunch. Beverages will be available on the course.

About EMS Region III

Organization of Eastern New Mexico Emergency Medical Services Region III (EMS Region III) Corporation began in 1979, through a joint effort of the Eastern Plans Council of Governments and the Southeastern New Mexico Economic Development District. With the dedication and persistence of the agencies, Eastern New Mexico EMS Region III became a reality, and operations began in 1980.

 

EMS Region III has an established residence of 30-years in Clovis, New Mexico. EMS Region III is comprised of 12 counties, encompassing 40,216 square miles on the southeastern side and far Northeast of New Mexico; 36% of the State's land area and 20% of the population.

 

The regional office, located at 2421 East 21st Street, Clovis, New Mexico, provides technical/advisory resources and leadership for ambulance, fire, rescue, injury prevention, emergency medical dispatch, and trauma care systems in Union, Harding, Quay, Guadalupe, DeBaca, Roosevelt, Curry, Chaves, Lea, Lincoln, Eddy and Otero counties.

 

EMS Region III is comprised of over 139 EMS services and emergency medical dispatch agencies, 700 emergency medical technicians (EMTs), 12 hospitals and staff, over 3,000 registered nurses and six colleges colleges/universities; one being an approved EMS Training Institution, Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell.

More About the Corporation

The overall function of EMS Region III is to develop, support, coordinate and regulate selected aspects of community-based systems and programs to prevent, mitigate and respond to injuries and other medical emergencies to reduce death and disability resulting from medical and traumatic emergencies. EMS Region III continually establishes and maintains programs that respond to the needs of its communities. EMS Region III also advocates the creation of healthier communities through our injury prevention programs. We provide leadership to communities to reduce and prevent interpersonal and self-directed violence, as well as unintentional injuries for all age groups, but with strong emphasis on children and young adults.

 

The EMS program is implemented under the policy direction of the 12-member Board of Directors of Eastern New Mexico Emergency Medical Services Corporation incorporated in September 1981. The Board of Directors general guidance on goals, objectives, implementation strategies, financial matters and administrative policies.

 

The regional staff, comprised of four full-time and 2 part-time individuals, work to implement the DOH/ERD/EMS Bureau's  Strategic Plan for New Mexico; including rules and regulations, prevention/public education, human resources, training, transportation, medical direction, communication, facilities, trauma systems, system development and data management. The regional office is continuously streamlining and professionalizing office procedures and operations.
