Oppose Senate Bill 68 — Protect Your Rights

SB 68 is disguised as "tort reform" that will save Georgians money. In reality, it saves the insurance companies money and puts profits before people. The bill prioritizes big corporate interests and shields them from being held accountable — all at the expense of injured victims' and their families, prolonging their suffering.

Why Is SB 68 Dangerous for You?

Everyone who drives is at risk of getting into a terrible accident at any moment. If you've been in an accident, you know the terror and the pain that comes after. You’re unable to work and face a mountain of medical bills.

The current legal system is there to help you hold the responsible party accountable. But if SB 68 goes into law, the insurance companies would have greater power to delay and deny your case.

What's in SB 68?

SB 68 is a "tort reform" bill being pushed as lowering insurance premiums, but history shows that such measures don't lead to savings for consumers — only bigger profits for insurance companies.

If passed, this bill would make it harder for you to recover fair compensation after an accident by limiting your legal rights and making lawsuits more difficult to pursue. Put another way, the insurance company will have an easier time walking away with everything, leaving you in pain and ruinous debt.

Why Everyone Should Care

  • It limits accountability for those responsible for injuries.
  • It protects insurance companies and corporations, not everyday people.
  • It makes it harder for victims to seek justice and fair compensation after accidents.

Insurance are putting the blame on law firms even though the corporations are the ones who control the rates. They'd rather victims suffer than cover the people they promised to insure.

Send them a message that people's rights matter.
