House Bill 1470, the bill that basically allows the utilities to raise your rates as much as they want, whenever they want, has passed both the House and the Senate and is now on its way to the Governor's desk. Please contact Gov. Holcomb and tell him NO BLANK CHECKS for the monopoly utility companies at YOUR expense. Tell Gov. Holcomb to VETO HB1470!

Indiana law already makes it difficult for Indiana Utility Regulators to do their job. HB1470 further ties the hands of our regulators, by giving them no choice other than to give the utilities a blank check.
HB1470 will effectively guarantee that captive Hoosier gas and electric customers will face ENORMOUS increases in their monthly utility bills.
It is urgent that you contact Gov. Holcomb ASAP and tell him to VETO HB1470! Tell him that Indiana should be exploring legislation to shield Hoosiers from the excesses of monopoly utilities, NOT increasing the monopoly stranglehold on the regulatory process.
