Unfortunately, last night there was a failure in our Co2 gas system located in the kitchen causing the alarm to be set off. The clubhouse maintenance crew detected the leak early this morning, turned off the gas, began ventilating the area, and are now waiting for the line to be repaired.
The Co2 levels in the kitchen are extremely high and exceed safety thresholds. The gas company has told us it will likely be 8 hours before the levels are safe. Co2 is odorless and hazardous levels of carbon dioxide can occur quickly causing a myriad of unsafe symptoms if exposed.
For the safety of the employees and residents, the restaurant will be closed today. We will be monitoring the situation all day but plan on opening tomorrow when the Co2 levels are safe.
We apologize for the inconvenience and will keep you abreast of the situation.
Respectfully,
J.B. Belknap, PGA
HGRD General Manager
