In response to the COVID-19 crises, the Community Foundation for Mississippi is assisting
Working Together Jackson,
University of Mississippi Medical Center, and
Stewpot Community Services as they partner to feed families in the metro area.
Currently these volunteers and organizations are delivering over 300 hot meals to families and seniors each day, as well as delivering about 400 food boxes each week. Food boxes include non-perishables, such as canned vegetables, pasta, beans, and rice. The cost for providing daily hot meals is $750, and for providing weekly food boxes is $11,000.
Those needs are expected to increase to at least 500 hot meals and 500 food boxes by Monday, April 6.
