Hello!

It’s finally here - Day One of the 2026/27 school year! Over the last few weeks, several Bears have been here making plans for a fantastic year and after the quiet of summer, it’s been great to see (and hear!) them back in the halls.

Needless to say, the circumstances leading to our delayed start were an unwelcome surprise. I thank you for your patience as we took the steps necessary to assure that everyone was returning to a safe space. It will take a little bit of time for some classrooms to be back 100%;   replacement supplies and equipment have been, and are being, ordered and will be in place as soon as reasonably possible. A big THANK YOU goes out to Mrs. Barcom, Dr. Michalski and Mr. Baker for their quick and thorough response and to the teachers who have had to adapt, adjust and cope with a challenging situation. This community has shown its best and it bodes well for the upcoming year.

Parents … please go to the parents page on the website (ursulinestl.org/parents) right now (!) to connect with Bear Moms and the Fathers Club and also, to check out upcoming events and ways to get involved. I was recently with the father of two alumnae (who have now made him a proud grandfather!) who encouraged me to tell parents that “Ursuline is a great place for parents too. Most of our lifelong friends are people we met there.” I see it so often and I’m confident you will have the same experience. I look forward to seeing you here.

Cell Phone Policy Reminder

This is a reminder that Ursuline is a cellphone, smartwatch, and wireless earbuds free campus during school hours. You can view the policy in full here or in the handbook.

Student Parking Reminders

Any student parking on campus should review the parking guidelines before the start of the year. Here is a map of the parking lot. The numbered spots belong to seniors. You may not park in the yellow lined spaces during school hours.   

If you need a parking pass, please come to Brescia office at the start of school.

Mock Trial Volunteers

October - February

Ursuline Academy’s Mock Trial Team is looking for attorneys connected to the UA community to assist with the upcoming mock trial season. You would be working with students along with two teacher moderators and Judge Jason Sengheiser to prepare the team for trial competitions in January and February. Please save the date for our upcoming Grandparents and Special Friends Day on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. We are excited to welcome grandparents and special friends in our Ursuline students’ lives for a prayer service and continental breakfast. We kindly ask that you share this date directly with your daughter’s grandparents and special friends, so they can plan to attend. All information about Grandparents and Special Friends Day will be communicated directly to parents.

College Application Meeting

Tuesday, August 25 - Activity Period

Seniors have a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, August 25 during Activity Period to discuss college applications and the process for requesting transcripts. In the meantime, we encourage seniors to review the Class of 2027 – College Planning Google Classroom for important college application information and resources.
