Advent: Moving Toward the Manger
During Advent we will be praying with the booklet,
Moving Toward the Manger,
by Martin E. Marty. We will begin each morning with a reflection from this book. We are asking our students and staff to help us to prepare the crib and welcome Christ into our world. Every time you observe someone doing something kind, place a piece of straw in the manger so that we can celebrate what is right in in our world! You can find a manger in our school lobby and outside of the library.
During December as we seek ways to grow closer to God, we look for possibilities of how to serve the needs of others. KirkCare is a food pantry supporting the Kirkwood area. They offer food delivery and utilities assistance. They are in desperate need of replenishment as they give out boxes of food during this Christmas season. Let us come to the manger, bringing gifts of food for those who lack even the most basic human needs.
Drop off your donations in the baskets located by the manger in the lobby or outside of the library.
- Second Week of Advent: Dinner items--canned tuna and chicken, pasta sauces, pasta, rice, canned stew and baking mixes.
- Join us for our Advent Prayer Services: December 10 at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel.
