There are some big things happening this week!
Robotics!
As I write this on Wednesday our Ursuline Bearbotics team (Team 6391) is traveling to Oklahoma to compete in the FIRST Robotics Regional Tournament. Getting ready for this competition has required months of engineering design, programming, testing, teamwork, and resilience.
The team invites us all to cheer them on from home and I can tell you from personal experience that robotics in action is very exciting. For behind-the-scenes updates, follow the team’s Instagram at @uabearbotics6391. Live match results, rankings, and event updates will also be available on The Blue Alliance (https://www.thebluealliance.com/team/6391), where you can search for Team 6391 and track their progress throughout the Oklahoma Regional.
We’re all proud of you 6391, students and mentors, and we’re sending you with prayers for safe travels, that your skills serve you well in competition, for joy in the process, and that all the moving parts move as intended!
The Arts!
Our participation in regional and state competition continues to grow in the Arts, with Bears participating in the following this weekend. Prayers and “break a leg” to all of you!
Speech Districts taking place in Clayton
District Solo and Ensemble Festival at Parkway North High School.
Theater Districts East Central College in Union
The Basketball Bears are also competing in Districts this week and the curtains will open on the spring production of “All Shook Up” this weekend.
Ursuline has a LOT to be proud of! We’re grateful for all the hard work our students, volunteers, mentors and coworkers do to represent us so well. Please say a special prayer for the Bears competing in robotics, speech, music, theater and basketball this week.
All my best,
Peggy Slater
